Baptisms & Confirmations

BAPTISM
Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the Church. Baptism is rite by which God establishes a new relationship with us. Grace baptizes people of all ages; we welcome all who come wanting a deeper knowledge of God. Baptism is celebrated during regular church services on All Saints Sunday (November), the Baptism of Jesus (January), Easter (March/April), and Pentecost (May). If you are interested in participating in this sacrament for yourself or on behalf of a child, please contact the church office to schedule a time for preparation.

CONFIRMATION
Confirmation is a sacramental rite in which a baptized person makes a public affirmation of the promises made at his or her baptism, usually made on their behalf by parents and godparents.

A Bishop leads the worship service and lays hands on each confirmand, while praying for the Holy Spirit to strengthen and empower that person. Preparation for confirmation is grounded in our Baptismal Covenant and explores the questions: Who is God? Who is Jesus? What is the Church? And how are we to live? Exploring the Faith classes are open to anyone interested in confirmation, in reaffirming their baptismal vows, or who are just curious about their faith.

If you have questions about confirmation, please contact the church office.
