New Group Forming for Education for Ministry (EFM)
If you automatically think the Beatles when you hear the names John and Paul -
you might want to consider taking EFM!
If you think an Epistle is the wife of an Apostle - you might want to begin an
EFM class
EFM is a group program that increases your knowledge, both theoretical,
conceptual and practical about God and how to relate to him on a personal basis.
EFM is a college level course that requires at least a one year commitment on a
weekly basis for two semesters (for which you can obtain college credit).
Knowledge and life experiences weave together and as a group become much broader
through others perceptions of the truth.
Theological reflection is an important part of the process and is key to
enriching your own level of faith and ability to converse with Him.
Please contact Grace Church, your rector, or Anne Lett-Brown (740-1789) for more
information about this very exciting journey.
Education for Ministry (EFM) is a distance learning theological education program of the School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Completion of the program takes four years, during which participants study the Bible, church history, and twentieth century theology. Each seminar group of six to eleven members commits to one year at a time and meets regularly for nine months each year under the leadership of a trained mentor. Since the program began in 1975, over 54,000 persons in the U.S. and overseas have participated in EFM.
Each Christian receives the call to Christ’s ministry at baptism. EFM teaches you how to think theologically, deepens your faith and understanding of our Christian heritage, and provides you with a new confidence to be Christ’s minister.
