For many years Grace Episcopal Church Galveston Parishioners and their family or friends have wanted to memorialize people and events at Grace Church. Now anyone can enjoy the opportunity to become a part of this historic church. For the first time in Grace Church's nearly 120-year history, you can invest in a personally-engraved brick paver that will be installed at the entrance of Quin Hall to be viewed and appreciated by parishioners and visitors for years to come.
There has been an accumulation of small indoor plaques around the Nave and Quin Hall memorializing people and events. At present we have one outdoor site which is Fr. Bill Russell's memorial. The success of Fr. Bill's memorial suggested a plan to allocate an area of memorial plaques along the inside of the cloister northward and on the advice of experts the plaque idea was shelved due to cost and the irregular surface of the limestone blocks which form the arches. Out of the discussions about the memorial plaques came the idea for the Bricks of Ministry at the entrance to Quin Hall.
As a donor you will receive a commemorative "mini-brick" of your Bricks for Ministry donation. This "mini-brick" is 1.5"x3" and will be engraved to match the large brick. You will also receive a certificate showing your commitment to your Grace Church family.
A personalized brick paver is a unique way to honor loved ones, commemorate special events and recognize loved ones. Investing in a brick paver is also an excellent way to contribute to the ongoing ministry of Grace Church and ensure that Grace's ministry will be offered to future generations.
Contributions in support of the Bricks for Ministry are tax deductible and will help preserve the ongoing ministries of Grace Church. The Rector and the Vestry will determine the area of greatest need that would benefit from the donations to the Bricks for Ministry.
Download and print the Bricks for Ministry form here and bring it to church on Sunday .
